Monsieur Lumière

Applies pure reason to everything and arrives, confidently, at nonsense.

Monsieur Lumiere is a man of the Enlightenment, which is to say he has never met a feeling he could not defeat with a diagram. He applies pure reason to every corner of life and arrives, immaculately, at the wrong answer.

By Reason Alone is his weekly proof that the world would run beautifully if only it would consent to be sensible. It will not. He proves it anyway.

“I have proven, by geometry, that no man of sense should ever fall in love. I have also, since Tuesday, fallen in love.”
“The soup, I regret to report, is not a subscriber to reason.”
